2021-22 School Year: New Principals for Tavola Elementary, Woodridge Forest Middle, and Bens Branch Elementary.
New principals are coming to NCISD.
In March, the Board of Trustees approved the hiring of three new principals for the 2021-22 school year.
Lisa Bruce is joining Tavola Elementary as a principal and Dan Carr will be taking up his position at Woodridge Forest Middle School. Kristie Kelley will join Bens Branch Elementary after spending 23 years in Dayton ISD where she served as an instructional coach, teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
Bruce and Carr are both currently serving as assistant principals in NCISD, and look forward to making the transition to their new roles this fall.
The Board of Trustees also agreed on hiring Kristi Amarantos as the Executive Director of Human Resources, on April 19th. She came to New Caney ISD in 2020 after serving 16 years at Sheldon ISD, in various administrative roles including Executive Director of Human Resources. She started her career in education as a teacher at Galena Park ISD. Amarantos will replace Steve Freeman, who is retiring after serving New Caney ISD for the last 17 years and has spent an impressive 41 years in public education.
The Board of Trustees has chosen Brooke Lyles to be the new director for career and technical education. Lyles will be replacing Warren Stripling, who is retiring after committing 27 years of service to education, with 23 of those years at New Caney ISD. Lyles has 17 years of experience in public schools as an agricultural science teacher and FFA advisor. She has served as CTE coordinator at New Caney ISD since 2018.
