$7,500 Check Presented to Tavola Elementary from Tavola Reindeer Run

Friendswood Development Company hosted its fourth annual Tavola Reindeer Run on Saturday, December 7, 2019. The event attracted more than 450 participants.

This year, proceeds benefited the students, faculty, and staff of Tavola Elementary, which sits on site in the community. New Caney ISD opened the school in August 2015, with a mission of preparing students for the reality of the future.

A check for $7,500 was presented to Principal Sheri Lowe. The funds have been allocated for the school's "Big Dream" mural project in collaboration with art students from New Caney High School. This inter-disciplinary project is part of their Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative. The school will also purchase a new laminator and other needed equipment.

"Tavola Elementary was excited to partner with Friendswood Development Company for Tavola Reindeer Run. It was great to come together as a community and promote the run, while enjoying a day filled with activities for the whole family. This project was a great partnership and the school is excited to put the funds to good use," said Lowe.
