Finding Your Space Outdoors at Lake Houston Parks

During these unprecedented times, many individuals and families are rediscovering their love for the outdoors. As of today, you can practice your social distancing while enjoying some fresh air and exercise at parks and trails across the Lake Houston area.

Pack a lunch and grab some fresh air at one of the city of Humble Parks. These parks include Hirsch Memorial, Schott, Uptown and Timberwood parks.

The Kingwood Greenbelt trail system and other Kingwood parks are also open to enjoy a family hike, play disc golf, or have lunch at an open-air pavilion. Northpark Recreation Area remains closed at this time.

Another option for outdoor enthusiasts is to get out the walking shoes and enjoy 20 miles of hike and bike trails, horse trails, fishing, a canoe launch at Lake Houston Wilderness Park in New Caney.  This park features 20 miles of hike and bike trails, horse trails, fishing, a canoe launch, cabins, campsites and screen shelters. The Nature Center remains temporarily closed.
