Grand Parkway Expansion
Plan ahead! Texas Department of Transportation is moving forward with its $855 million project to expand the Grand Parkway from New Caney to Baytown. Construction crews will be building bridges over the highway, temporarily shutting down some northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 59.
According to Grand Parkway Infrastructure, LLC, Phase One of the construction will begin April 17-18 and continue over the next three to four months. On April 17 between 8 p.m. - 5 a.m., the southbound lanes from just south of Walton Avenue to FM 1314 and Porter/Conroe exit will be closed. On April 18 between 8 p.m. - 5 a.m., the northbound lanes just north of FM 1314 to north of the the Grand Parkway and Hwy. 59 will remain closed.
