HCA Houston Healthcare in Kingwood Wrapping up $30M in Capital Improvements
HCA Houston Healthcare of Kingwood is just finishing up its expansive, $30 million capital improvement plan. John Corbeil (CEO) says the hospital is also looking into another multi-million dollar expansion in the near future to expand their trauma department and related surgical services.
This expansion included adding a cath lab to the hospital, updating their operating rooms, renovating the fourth floor to add an additional 38 hospital beds, and investing in minimally invasive surgical equipment. The $15 million that they put into the fourth floor of Heart Hospital will provide jobs for more than 100 new hospital employees. The brand new operating room is set to fully open in the fourth quarter of this year, while the hybrid operating room and cath lab just opened this past June.
In addition, the hospital is pending approval this year for another $20 million for expanding surgical services, along with making basic facility upgrades as well. The hospital is currently working on getting its Level II trauma accreditation and is considering working toward growing into a Level I trauma center, in the foreseeable future.
