New Caney HS Cosmetology Students Attend CHI Farouk Boot Camp

Tavola’s New Caney High School Cosmetology students have been working harder than ever to bring the best possible service to the community. These students had the opportunity to attend a two-day boot camp event at the CHI Environmental School Program by Farouk Systems, a known leader in the hair care industry. Combine what students learned in their classrooms with this boot camp and there is no doubt that the New Caney High School Cosmetology Students are ready for their own salon business!

At the CHI Boot Camp Academy, students learned about cutting and styling, advanced color techniques like balayage, and the effects of different products and smoothing treatments. Students that enrolled in this program were taught by “world-class educators who are also part of the Miss Universe pageant,” which gave these students a chance to see many professionals in action. Another aspect of this boot camp focused on team building to show students how important it is for teams to work together especially when working in a salon. What an opportunity!

New Caney High School Cosmetology students walked away from this boot camp with a Certificate of Achievement to show that they “survived Project CHI,” new techniques to practice in their classrooms and a hunger to bring their clients the best possible styling services. Be sure to support the Tavola community’s high school by emailing Cynthia Holloman at cholloman@newcaneyisd.org to book an appointment with the students for any hair styling needs.
