New Caney ISD Proposes Rezoning To Address Growth
New Caney ISD is asking for community input prior to their board of trustees is meeting on January 19 to discuss rezoning the middle and high school attendance zones.
The community of Tavola remains unchanged by the rezoning proposals that are meant to address growth in the New Caney area. In order to accommodate the growth, Keefer Crossings Middle School replacement will be opening August 2021 and the Comprehensive High School No. 3 in August 2022.
Approximately 20% of current sixth-graders at New Caney Middle School will be rezoned to Keefer Crossing Middle School and a small portion of current fifth-graders at Oakley Elementary School will be rezoned to attend Keefer Crossing.
The new high school campus opening 2022 is expected to open for freshmen only the first year. Keefer Crossing Middle School students will be zoned to New Caney High School, New Caney Middle School students will be zoned to Porter High School, White Oak Middle School students will be zoned to Porter High School and Woodridge Forest Middle School will be zoned to the new high school.
