Tavola Reindeer Run and Santa Stop
The 2nd annual Tavola Reindeer Run 5K and 1 mile family walk, benefitting the New Caney ISD Education Foundation, kicked off the holiday season on Saturday, December 2. The Mix 96.5 morning crew warmed up the crowd and Santa started the race through the picturesque master-planned community of Tavola.
While the race festivities were exciting, even more exciting to some of Tavola’s youngest residents, was the appearance and photo op with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children expressed holiday wishes while their parents enjoyed complimentary, gourmet hot chocolate, coffee, holiday cookies and keepsake photo.
After racers crossed the finish line and collected their medal, they were welcomed with quite a celebration. In addition to many sponsor booths, participants were treated to food, refreshments and a bounce house, bungy tramp and rock wall for the kids.
The after-party saw cash awards for top finishers, both male and female, and of course, a prize for most festive holiday costume.
Guests were also invited to tour the model homes for a chance to enter and win an Apple watch.
Results from the 5K race are posted here: http://www.finishtime360.com/tavola-reindeer-run/
Thanks to the support of the community and race sponsors, proceeds from the Tavola Reindeer Run, put on by Friendswood Development Company, totaled $4000 and will be presented from the Tavola Foundation to the New Caney ISD Education Foundation.
